Ōura, a Finnish health technology company, announced the third generation Oura Ring with new features on 26 October 2021.
Have you ever been curious about whether or not your body is in good condition? With an Oura Ring on your finger, you can monitor your heart rate, sleep insights, activity, illness, and more detailed personal data that alter throughout the day. The Oura Ring uses advanced sensor technology to detect sleep and health insights from your body. Whenever you wonder: how well did you sleep last night? How tired am I feeling right now? Am I ready to start the day? Oura Ring can always help you find answers about your health.
Appearance Design
Being referred to as “the world’s smallest wearable tech,” Oura Ring 3 appears as a fashionable ring. However, it is equipped with several tiny sensors inside the ring, all of which operate a sophisticated data-collecting and health tracking system. As for the appearance, Oura Ring 3 is made of durable titanium and comes in only one style and four colors, including silver, black, stealth, and gold. In terms of size, Oura Ring 3 comes with eight sizes ranging from 6 to 13 (international ring size). The company also provides the at-home sizing kit so that customers are able to find the fittest size of a ring. Last but not least, Oura Ring 3 is very light; the ring weighs only 4 to 6 grams depending on the size. The ring is also waterproof. So, it is very comfortable for customers to wear Oura Ring 3 to exercise and do daily activities.
Brand New Features in the Oura Ring 3
Oura Ring is known for being a personalized sleep and recovery tracker that provides users detailed information about their health by measuring and analyzing data of their bodies. Based on that concept, Oura adds some useful features into Oura Ring generation 3 to upgrade the user’s experience.
Period Tracking and Prediction
With the Oura Ring 3, female users are now able to track their period and know when their next period will probably come. Unlike most period calendar apps that predict the dates of the upcoming period according to the information that users provide about their past periods. The company declares on their official website that the Oura ring is using “consistent body temperature measurements” to predict when the next period will arrive. “Stay prepared and receive predictions based on your body, not your calendar,” adds the company.
Workout Heart Rate Tracking
The Oura Ring 3 will be able to detect users’ heart rate during their exercise and workout. Users are also going to receive detailed insights and recovery data about their workout routine.
Upgraded Sleep Staging Algorithm
Oura describes the Ring 3 as “[a] sleep lab wrapped around your finger.” By wearing an Oura Ring on your finger, you can know your sleep status. Gen 3 precisely measures the time users spend in different sleep stages for controlling sleep quality through the inspection of body temperature, heart rate, and HRV (heart rate variability).
Guided Audio Sessions
Gen 3 provides up to 50 audio sessions for users, such as mediation, breathing, and energy boosts. Users can add the activities they are interested in to their daily routine.
“Engineered with a brand new technology suite, the Oura Ring Generation 3 is built to empower cutting-edge features that capture the future of health—all on your finger,” according to Oura’s official website. Remaining the same look, petiteness, and lightweight, Oura launched the Ring 3, the smallest in the line, with updated features. With built-in tiny sensors, the smart ring brings meticulous health measurements and tracks for users.
