Rockstar Games announced the upcoming Grand Theft Auto (GTA): The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on October 8, which combines the three previous versions: GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. The newest version will bring “the classic original games to new platforms with a range of graphical and technical enhancements, and much more!” according to Grove Street Games.

Rockstar Games marked this special day as GTA’s 20th anniversary on October 22. Meanwhile, October 25 marked the 10th anniversary of GTA V. To celebrate this memorial event, Rockstar Games intends to release the digital versions of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition on November 11, 2021. As for the physical copies, they will be launched later at the end of this year.

While merging the previously released versions together, “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” provides players with fresh gaming experiences. The original control schemes are replaced by a control setup similar to GTA 5, in which players can enjoy gunplay with a higher quality of targeting. The drive-by shooting experience is also upgraded. With the higher precision of operation and more options on the radio and weapon wheel, players will have whole new experiences while driving their car in the city. Besides the upgraded interface and gaming quality, the latest version features another exciting news: no more waiting after failing missions. Players can now immediately restart from their failed missions.

Furthermore, Rockstar Games has been committing to visual enhancements. In the trailer, the original characters and the classic settings remained, yet also different at some point. The Trilogy provides higher resolution and a new lighting system. The frame rate also increases to 4K 60 FPS. Thus, the characters, buildings, and even shadows are more vivid and lively than the previous versions. Rockstar Game believes that these enhancements will bring players a more immersive gaming experience.

Players can try a part of the trilogy before deciding to purchase the complete edition. Next year, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be published on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC.
